…the shopkeeper found his way into his brother’s Facebook account.
Did you know that Facebook can memorialise the profile of anyone recently deceased? The drawback is that once someone is reported as having died, no changes can be made to their account – though friends will still be able to leave messages on Gavin’s profile wall.
Fortunately, Gavin was never in the habit of changing his passwords too often and so I’ve been able to access his account. On Friday 15th January, I’ll be accepting all friend requests made to Gavin on his behalf and then asking Facebook to memorialise his account. If you’re reading this and want to make friends with the friendliest guy around – albeit posthumously – then look him up here (and don’t feel you had to know him… Gavin loved being the centre of attention, so the more the merrier!)
